Well after a little morning drama and a costume change Addie went to school as a cupcake for Halloween. They had a little party and a parade around the football field. We will go trick or treating later tonight, we will see what Addie wants to dress up as.

Happy Halloween!
It was a Halloween festival at the community center on Friday night and a friends Halloween Party last night so we are all tuckered out. The community center was a lot of fun with carnival games for all the kids and a bounce house. They had an upstairs and a downstairs area, so that kids under 5 could be upstairs and a little less crazy that the older kids downstairs. We met Addie's friend Jake there and the kids had a blast. Calvin enjoyed himself since he was given a balloon within a few minutes of arrival.

Sampling the goods
Coloring with an 18 month old.... Tried markers and marked his forehead and lip (and sucked on the marker). Tried crayons and he ate them (see colors on tongue and shirt). Hmmm.., I think we will stick with stickers.

Feel good running
Damien and I were up on the track last night at the Y. It is never too crowded and there are some corners where you can do mat exercises. It is also fun being able to see the gym below (the track is an open balcony of sorts above the gym below) so we can watch Addie play in the gym. The only problem arrives when they let the kids from below up to the track to run and get some energy out. Since Addie is a regular most of the kids know me and feel comfortable talking to me... Normally fine until you get "you are slow. I can run way faster than you, I bet Addie can run faster than you". And then they proceed to take off and leave me in the dust.... Yay, at least the 2 year old didn't pass me (his 4 year old sister did though). Addie came up to run the second round once she knew we were up there. I thought all kids could run fast... Not Addie. I think she has the Moore running gene; her friends could take off like rockets but Addie was still trying to fire her boosters. Here she is in the background with D as a blur.

Whooo wouldn't love Calvin
Whooo (get it, like an owl). Love the owl sweater. Addie was a good older sister and held Calvins hand all the way to the car.

Polka dots all over
Well, Addie's forehead matches the shirt she wore today with one big polka dot. She face planted on concrete running to preschool. All is well with minimal damage... And Hello Kitty makes everything all better.

Swim Lessons
Addie loves swim lessons, she has been putting her face in the water for several seconds at a time and enjoys having her friends in the class with her. We signed up for the next session and even more friends are joining, there should be a party in the pool and all the parents can visit without kids interrupting for 30 minutes (equal to 3 hours when kids are around).

Always one for the road
Lately I have noticed a trend with Calvin, he doesn't leave home without food in his hand.... Last week we went out to dinner and Calvin arrived with a graham cracker in his hand and left with a French fry clutched in his fist. To pick Addie up from preschool the other day he carried a cracker around for 20 minutes. I would try to take it away but he has gotten good at screaming "noooooo" and I pick my battles.

New Fave
Well, date night Saturday was tacos and beer on the beach and Sunday morning with the kids (Damien went for a dirt bike ride) was the same spot but muffins instead of tacos. It is nice to let the kids throw rocks (Addie found the two biggest ones and wanted to bring them home) and we looked at the divers, etc. all in all a good morning.
The good morning was quickly brought back to reality in the afternoon after Addie didn't nap, Calvin woke up screaming and cried every time he put food in his mouth... His molars are almost all the way in. The topper was Addie pooping on the couch (not totally, but any piece of poop on the couch is enough to thank god for slip covers). Oh, and why you might ask did Addie poop on the couch; because she didn't want to miss a minute of Max and Ruby, her favorite cartoon..... Bedtime was a welcomed end to the day.

Rainy Day Picnic
No school today and the first bout of rain in months. Addie wanted an indoor picnic and loves using the quilt GG gave her when she was born. Now Calvin likes to join in as well.

Addies Artwork
To reduce some clutter and preserve some of Addie's drawings I will be posting them up here. She uses markers at school (we only have crayons at home) so she loves creating new masterpieces. Her fingers are often stained with marker when she gets home from school.
Busy weekend
It was a busy couple of days, fun filled but busy. On Friday we had one I Addie's friends over so his parents could go out to dinner. Addie was happy to have someone to run around with, they went to the park to run around for a bit before dinner and in the pool afterwards. Calvin is loving the pool and even likes going underwater. Addie is also loving the pool and now goes underwater all by herself.
On Saturday we went to visit one of Damien's co workers who just became a foster mom to a one and a half year old girl and two an a half year old bit (brother and sister). Talk about the deep end of the pool.... We took over some clothes, toys and books and let the kids play for a bit. We hit up McDonalds on the way home where they had a playground in the restaurant which Addie had never seen, needless to say she left in tears wanting to play more. Later that night was pros babysitting so Damien and I went out while Addie and Calvin played with 4 of her friends.
Sunday was another friends birthday so we went to the zoo and enjoyed the fabulous October weather. Here are all the kids squeezed into the stroller.

Tacos with Grandmama
Our favorite taco truck just opened a restaurant in a great location right on the water. I was sad it wasnt open in time for summer but today the weather was still nice enough to eat outside. Calvin enjoyed some tacos with grandmama in the outdoor patio and then enjoyed walking around while we finished our meal. It was a great view and good weather... Let's hope it lasts a bit longer. Addie was in preschool but she doesn't like tacos anyway, wah wah.
New clothes
As Addie told her teacher when she complemented her new vest "thanks, it came in the mail". I love online shopping especially with kids. I bought a size big but it looks like Addie skipped over 4T and 5T fits just right (or she has been a 4T for a while and I dressed her in 3T, sorry Addie). We had a fun playdate with her friend Eli at the park... Here they are in a scooter showdown.

Cama Beach
We went to Cama Beach over the weekend to go Cabin camping for 2 nights. The beach has lots of small cabins that used to be a resort and was donated to the state. The kids had fun throwing rocks in the water and running around. Thursday we were one of the only cabins there and on Friday lots more kids came with their families. Calvin had a bit of a hard time sleeping the first night, he was too tempted to whack Addie on the head since they were sleeping on the same bed. The second night he did a little better.
