Damien found a new KTM, he is now a happy camper.

Summer is here

Finally some nice weather again. We had some fun after Addie got home from summer camp. She is going to the YMCA summer camp at Lincoln Park rain or shine from 9-12. This is day 2 and she seems to really like it. Anyway, the water table was great to use today with the warm weather, Calvin now enjoys splashing and Addie likes scooping water into her bucket. Even Rice for into the action with a cool drink.

Zip line fun

We went to Lincoln park this morning where the playground has a zip line. Damien ha a few fun rides and Addie even got on it (from the midway point). From there we went to the beach and threw rocks and ran around. Good times!

Waiting game

So, the kids get to come with me to the office for 4 hours while we wait for a delivery. No problem (that was my thought at the beginning of the week). Last night the no problem thinking turned to "what the hell was I thinking." So I packed toys, books, puzzles snacks and the ever valuable iPad. I got there a little early to clear space.

9:30, maybe I can do this....

9:45 Addie had plowed through most snack and Calvin has found his new favorite toy the paper shredder.

9:55 I build a barricade to keep kids out of all the fabric and fragile items.

10:00 I start praying that I will be the first stop since I am at the South end of Seattle.....

10:10 I start thinking I am only 10 minutes in and have 3 hours and 50 minutes left... Oh god.

10:20 Calvin is crawling into cupboards and under the desk, trying a pack and play proves disastrous with Calvin screaming beyond belief, the office manager comes out to check and make sure that everything is OK. (no I am not torturing my children, I just set him down in a #$%& pack and play)

10:25 I hear a truck and my phone rings....oh THANK GOD! I am the first stop. Now we can go home, with what was a very long hour of my life behind me....

Yay, beach weather

Whoever said life is a beach didn't have 2 kids with them. But, we had a good time with plenty of toys and snacks for everyone. There was still quite a bit of wind so it was a little chilly. Maybe someday soon it will be warm enough to go in a bathing suit..... or I can make a wind shield. Knowing Seattle I should just spend the hour making a wind shield (I tried to use the stroller and the towel to block the wind but it didnt do much).

A One Year Olds Breakfast

Teaching someone to eat is no easy feat. Thankfully Calvin eats way more foods than Addie does, which is great. But getting the manners and cleanliness down is a challenge. But, at least it is entertaining.

Calvin is Walking

Well, he is walking with the walker. He just started this morning and gets really mad with himself when he hits a wall or I try to get him to go a bit slower. I think the official walking should come soon, once it clicks for him that he can do it. He did about 20 laps of the hallway between his bedroom and our room this morning. I would have to turn him around but the rest of the time he was just happy to be on his own walking with the cart. Addie of course tried to ram his cart with her shopping cart, we are working on being gentle with Calvin while he is walking but I think she looks at it as a worthy opponent to play with now.....god help him.

Mister Calvin

Calvin is always entertaining, he seems to like to relax with his arm up on things which of course makes him look like he should be hanging with the boys instead of hanging in the shopping cart with mom. Damien has him sit in the jacuzzi with both arms up on the edge of the jacuzzi and his back against a jet.... It's a rough life for Calvin.

Fun usually goes against the rules

I made a mosh pit for the kids from the couch cushions.... They aren't supposed to stand on the couch let alone jump. I explained that Addie could stand on the couch since the cushions were off but tried to limit jumping. SORRY DAMIEN. Calvin likes to roll around on the couch and throw himself into the cushions so this is safe. Anyhow Addie likes to jump into the mosh pit and Calvin likes to roll around on the couch. Calvin's new thing is clapping, so he claps for Addie when she jumps, what a supporter!

Ps, Addie had to take her pants off to match Calvin after he crawled out of his pants.

Touch a truck

Today was Touch a Truck, an event put on by Junior League in Seattle. We got there an hour before it started and went to the park right behind where the event was. The kids had a great time (and so did we since it wasn't crowded yet). We still had to wait in line to get Addie in the drivers seats of all the vehicles (ambulances, trash trucks, bull dozers, semis, etc) but it wasn't as bad ad when we left. Calvin enjoyed his time on the swings and I am sure will appreciate the trucks more next year.
