Addie's Christmas Show

Addie had her Christmas concert with her preschool tonight. They sang Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls and Roudolph.... They were all pretty cute. After the show they had cookies (several in fact). I will try to upload the video to share, but here is a picture of Addie and Calvin enjoying some cookies.

Friday was decorating gingerbread houses with some of Addie's friends that we swap babysitting with, Sunday was cookie decorating with our PEPS friends..... Monday morning Calvin was sick (too much sugar).

Fun with a box....

Addie and Calvin got into one of their storage boxes with little wheels in the base. Of course they quickly figured out that they could push one another pretty fast (it worked better with Addie pushing Calvin than the reverse).

Scenes from the week

Well, the week was full of cold weather (snow has been in the ground for a week, not too much but a dusting had lasted a week). So cold the snow is still there but not enough to play in or do anything with.  The kids spent last night with Grandmama and Grandad so Damien and I got some holiday shopping in and a quiet dinner. Today is the Seahawks game and a princess birthday for one of Addie's friends. 

The weekend, Christmas is here

Well, the kids got a taste of Christmas with decorating the tree and Santa inflatable. Calvin was a little sad to discover that there were no presents under the tree the next morning (he even tried to drag us down to the garage looking for the toys from Santa) but has now gotten out of expecting Christmas morning every morning (that would have made for a long month).

No suitcase required

Addie dressed herself today (and Calvin too). She chose to wear layers.... 3 dresses, 1 shirt, 1 skirt, and pants. No need for a suitcase when she goes down to SoCal, she can just wear a weeks worth of outfits.

Addie's Outfits

I am thinking I should start giving some of Addie's outfits names.... I call this tequila sunrise. My favorite part is one pant leg up/ one down complete with one sock on/ one off.

Time change madness

I never thought much about the time change until I had kids, and particularly this year it seems bad. The kids were finally waking up at 8:15 so I could work for a while in the morning, they were going to bed around 8/8:30 at night and sleeping solid. Now they are waking up before 7 some mornings, falling asleep in the car home from school at 4 and last night Calvinnoitlasted us all by staying awake past 9:15; and then getting into bed with us which of course led to Addie climbing into bed with us at 4am and a King bed becoming much too small.

More Halloween Fun

Addie had double Halloween parties with both schools today and Calvin wore his costume to his babysitter's. Hiawatha has a parade in costumes around the track which is as fun for the parents to watch as it is for the kids to walk in. When Addie got home she snuck upstairs to her room and fell asleep so we let her nap for an hour before beginning the evening activities. Calvin stayed at home with Damien an Addie and I met some friends at a Halloween carnival. They had plenty of games and Addie was scarily good at darts and popping balloons. They also had a home made slide for the kids by putting cardboard over stairs and a pit out of pillows... Addie went down a few times. We may have to remember that for our stairs.

Tad bit windy here

Driving home each day with Calvin I take the long way around West Seattle in the hopes that Calvin will be asleep by the time we get home. Today driving by Alki the wind was the strongest I have seen in a while making the ocean stormy. The waves were crashing over the sea wall so Calvin and I got out to take a look... He didn't want to go in the water this time.

Scenes from the weekend

This past weekend was prett full with the community center Halloween carnival on Friday that we went to with Uncle Carson who was up for a visit, a PEPs Halloween party Saturday night, a Pumpkin patch and the beach on Saturday morning an the Aquarium on Sunday for Halloween celebrations ..... And it still isn't even Halloween.

At least someone likes Rice

Calvin seems to like playing with Rice and she is so starved for attention I think she is starting to like Calvin. Maybe now she can follow Calvin around the house all day instead of me.

Vegas (with no kids)

We are in Vegas for business and get to spend some kid free time with each other while Grandma and Papi take care of the kiddos. Damien got the "large" margarita.

Rainy days are here to stay

We had to wait to pick Addie up from a field trip today so Calvin got to play in the park at Hiawatha. Fortunately it wasn't raining but Calvin enjoyed playin with the umbrella an jumping in the puddles.

Addie's All About Me

At preschool Addie did an about me poster. We think it is sweet that she likes to "play with her brother" and felt a little guilty about her favorite food. I looked at some other kids (since they posted them in the hall outside class) and one kid actually put fruit. Addie prefers nuggets.

A is for Artist

Addie takes a toy to school each Friday for show and tell, this week is letter A so she is taking her new Frida Kahlo doll (artist). The kids are getting spoiled with all the toys that come from Bungalow.

It was only a matter of time

Well, I guess it was only a matter of time before Calvin figured out he could climb into bed with Addie. We have moved him back into his bed twice tonight and each time he moves into Addie's bed (and he brings his stuffed animals too). How do we solve this one?
