Damien's Bitthday

Addie and Calvin decorated a cake for Damien's birthday. We bought the cake and they added some icing to it. After dinner when we brought in the cake Calvin beat Damien to blowing out the candle.

Easter Pictures

I forgot to post pictures from Easter and last week turned out to be busy with Bugs and strong willed children (lice and potty training). But anyway, back to Easter. We went down to Lincoln park with the water balloon launcher Damien got the kids for Easter and proceeded to catapult the Easter Eggs into the sound. It was quite a bit of fun and we make it a yearly tradition to get rid of the eggs.

Sponge Bob Art

Addie has started watching Spong Bob and is quite the officionado, she can recite the plot lines (in detail) and enjoys all the characters. Today she sat down to draw all the characters, it is fun to see how much her drawing skills are progressing. She loves to draw and any arts and crafts activity is something that she will sit still for.

Four out of four

Nice weather means beach time, I think we are 4 for 4 the past few days with going to the beach. Today we stopped by after school for a while to throw rocks and soak up some sun.

Lincoln Park

We went to Lincoln Park on Saturday to enjoy some sunshine and the beach. The kids had all sorts of fun throwing rocks, hiding in forts, finding walking sticks and blowing their whistles that Damien got for camping. Once we got back we painted the walking sticks so they could take them camping (Calvin uses his as a karate stick more than a walking stick so we are working with him on that).

Beach weather is here

Yes, in Seattle 60 degrees is beach weather. We headed down to Alki with one of Addie's friends in tow and the kids had a blast getting buried, playing with buckets and shovels and going in the water. Addie even impressed a bunch of college guys that were down there by jumping off the beach wall (probably 8') while the rest of us walked down 300 yards to use the stairs.... Fearless was the term they used; yes, yes she is.

Little Helpers

It has been busy around here for the past few months with work, plenty to do and juggle with the kids. Today they helped me label things for work which kept them entertained for a while in the garage. Addie was a good big sister showing Calvin where to put the sticker and Calvin enjoyed throwing them in the box and saying "done" after each it was labeled. They make a good team.

Find a project...

Calvin is busy washing dishes so I told Adfie to find a project since she was hovering over Calvin. 5 minutes later I checked in her and found her doing body art, a flower on her arm/hand and a rainbow on her leg.

Goodwill finds

Damien took the kids to goodwill last night to look for camping supplies and they each picked out some clothes. Calvin wanted to wear his snowman jammies last night and was pretty upset that they had to be washed first. So, today the first thing he did when he woke up was to get them out of the dreyer so he could wear them to Meghan's (they are 2 sizes too small). Addie is wearing the sundress she found.

Such a boy

Addie made her bed yesterday and lined up all of her toys on her pillow, I was quite impressed. That afternoon Calvin went in there to take a nap while Addie was at second school. When I went in to wake him up I had to laugh; Calvin had taken the Tinkerbell doll, undressed her and brought her under the covers with him.....
